The Los Angeles Times has announced the lineup for this year's Festival of Books. See which authors are among the 500-plus set to participate
On Wednesday, The Times unveiled its lineup for, scheduled for April 22 and 23, which will feature more than 500 writers, musicians and artists spread out across USC’s 226-acre campus.
Following last year’s return to a fully in-person festival after the pandemic forced such events to go virtual in 2020, organizer Ann Binney, associate director of events at The Times, said this year’s festival will be “striving to bring it even further back into normalcy and making it even better than it was last year.”Rachel Howzell Hall, George Saunders, James Hannaham among L.A.
The Los Angeles Times Book Prizes recognize works in 12 categories, with winners to be announced at USC in person on April 21. James Ellroy will receive a lifetime achievement prize. To that effect, the festival will feature its typical programming, with varied high-profile public figures and celebrated authors headlining events, but also new offerings, such as a partnership with Apple TV+, which will present a screening of an episode of its new mystery thriller series “Both Garner and Dave will be on hand to discuss the series and book on the festival’s main stage.
