Livermore resident Kellie Henry was planning to leave her boyfriend when he shot and killed her, then called her family members and confessed, relatives told a judge at his sentencing hearing last …

DUBLIN — On the September 2020 afternoon she was murdered, Livermore resident Kellie Henry had her bags packed, ready leave her boyfriend Gregory Stephens, members of Henry’s family said in court.Instead, Stephens, 39, fatally shot 51-year-old Henry at their home on the 9200 block of Tesla Road in Livermore, called the couple’s young son to confess, and offered to show other family members pictures of Henry’s body, according to her brother.

Last year, Stephens pleaded no contest to second-degree murder, accepting a sentence of 15 years to life. Under the terms, he will be eligible for parole around 2035, but with no guarantee he will ever be released. “On the day you murdered my sister and called your son on the phone to tell him you had murdered his mother, you changed our family’s lives forever,” Wilson said. “You didn’t show no remorse to myself or my nieces by asking us, while we were on the phone, if we wanted to see pictures of her death. You showed that you are pure evil.”
