Rain weather map forecast shows where it's set to rain in Leeds on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day
Those hoping for a dry New Year's Eve are likely out of luck as 2022 draws to a close, with a wet and turbulent new year forecast by weather experts.
Heavy rain is predicted across Yorkshire early on New Year's Eve from 6am, according to WX Chart's interactive rain weather map, with data provided by the Met Desk. North, East and West Yorkshire will be mostly affected by the unforgiving downpour. The heavens will then ease until 9pm when a lighter rain will return to the county. The rain will be heaviest in the east, towards Hull.Come midnight when many of will be counting down to and welcoming in the start of 2023, the weather will remain wet as drizzles prevail over our fair county. South Yorkshire is expected to see the heaviest rain during this time.
The rain will then calm and a light rain will continue across West Yorkshire, with Leeds motly affected as it gets lighter towards Huddersfield. The rain will then dissipate and we can expect a dry weather for the remainder of New Years Day. It comes as the Met Office long range forecast predicts the possibility of snow in the first few weeks of the new year. Between Monday, January 2, and Wednesday, January 11, the Met Office says Yorkshire will experience cold weather weather which may bring some snow.
