Being located in a fishing town, you might think that the fisheries would account for the majority of the company’s products and exports. Surprisingly, you’d be wrong.One of the company’s most high-demand products is currently electric fencing rope.Novatec Braids' product. The onsite test bed can certify weight strengths of up to 25,000 pounds. Anything beyond that is tested at other off-site labs. The company's highest rope – a nylon rope with a stretch and recoil – strength tested at around 130,000 pounds.Recently the Yarmouth-based business was the recipient of a 2023 Boating Industry Canada Employer of Choice award. Novatec Braids was the only Atlantic Canadian company to receive the award.
