Spencer Jones, the 6-foot-7 outfielder the Yankees drafted in the first round of the 2022 draft, lined singles into right field and center field in his two at-bats in an 8-7 loss to the Tigers.Jones has made an impact at the plate and in the outfield during spring training.Domingo German allowed seven runs on nine hits — including four home runs — in 2 ²/₃ innings. German was not concerned.
Nestor Cortes will make his Grapefruit League debut in Dunedin, Fla., against the Blue Jays at 1:07 p.m.
