It was supposed to be a win or go home game, but both teams could've just stayed home.
Yankees and Guardians fans will have to wait and see who will get to play the role of hero, because Mother Nature played the role villain Monday night. Game 5 of the American League Division Series was rained out, as MLB announced the decision to postpone the game nearly three hours after the game was supposed to start.
The Yankees said the game would start in a rain delay, but there were hopes the game would be played as the rain was supposed to move out during the evening. But as the rain continued into the night, MLB made the decision to postpone until 4:07 p.m. Tuesday. Due to the extended inclement weather conditions tonight, tonight’s ALDS Game 5 has been postponed and rescheduled for 4:07 p.m. tomorrow.
