Microsoft is rolling out the February update to all Xbox consoles today, which includes carbon-aware game downloads.
While this month's update throws in features like hiding game art on the Xbox Home background and further functionality with Google Home, it's the announcement that Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One are the first consoles to offer carbon-aware game downloads that has caught our attention. As detailed in the image above, Microsoft is keen to improve the power options available to users on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
Additionally, further improvements have been made to the Google Home functionality of the consoles, which now allows you to use the Google Home app as a touch controller for your console. Once you've added your Xbox to the app, you'll be able to turn it on and off, navigate the menus, control media, and a host of other commands that we've seen with other smart assistants.
