Elon Musk announced he would ban Apple devices at his companies if Apple integrates OpenAI's ChatGPT at the OS level.
The founder of Tesla, SpaceX, X , and xAI announced that he would ban Apple devices at all his companies if Apple proceeds with integrating OpenAI’s ChatGPT at the operating system level.
He elaborated further, stating, “Visitors will have to check their Apple devices at the door, where they will be stored in a Faraday cage.” Musk’s concerns revolve around what he perceives as an “unacceptable security violation” posed by ChatGPT-integrated iPhones. Apple has no clue what’s actually going on once they hand your data over to OpenAI. They’re selling you down the river.Apple’s recent partnership with OpenAI aims to enhance user experience by embedding ChatGPT functionalities directly into iOS, a move that Apple claims will not compromise user privacy.
“Privacy protections are built in when accessing ChatGPT within Siri and Writing Tools—requests are not stored by OpenAI, and users’ IP addresses are obscured,” stated OpenAI in aThey further clarified, “Users can also choose to connect their ChatGPT account, which means their data preferences will apply under ChatGPT’s policies.” Apple plans to use its own Apple Intelligence technology, which runs on devices with Apple Silicon, to keep data as secure as possible.
