Wrong-way crash in Lakeside leaves 4 hospitalized [Breaking]

Four people were hospitalized after a suspected drunken driver crashed head-on with another vehicle on state Route 67 in Lakeside late Sunday night, authorities said.

The crash occurred around 11:25 p.m. after a 51-year-old man made a U-turn and started heading south in the northbound lanes of SR-67 near Mapleview Street, said California Highway Patrol Officer Travis Garrow. After going a short distance, the driver crashed his Toyota 4-Runner into an oncoming Toyota Highlander driven by a 23-year-old man. There were two passengers in the Highlander.

An 18-year-old man riding in the front passenger seat suffered major injuries in the collision and was taken to a hospital. The Highlander driver and his 29-year-old back seat passenger suffered minor to moderate injuries and also were hospitalized, Garrow said. The driver of the 4-Runner sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. When he’s released, he will face felony DUI charges, Garrow said.

Stop Eliminating Perfectly Good Candidates by Asking Them the Wrong QuestionsStop Eliminating Perfectly Good Candidates by Asking Them the Wrong QuestionsAssessing a job candidate is all about the questions you ask during the interview. But too often leaders ask the wrong things, focusing more on what the interviewee has done in the past rather than what they can do in the future. If you need to hire someone to work on an innovation project, make sure you’re asking questions that get to their ability to collaboratively problem solve. For example, you want to know how they would handle particular problem-solving situations rather than whether they’ve done exactly what you’re looking for in the past. You should assess whether they are able and willing to fill in gaps on teams when it becomes clear a particular role isn’t being filled. And, it’s important to understand what they’re passionate about working on. Innovation happens when you bring people with different passions and approaches together to work toward the same goal.
