He became a fixture in those youth organizations. “He became close with our family, and when my brother, Jake, was diagnosed with leukemia, Ron took him to Mets games, Yankees game. He was Jake’s baseball buddy.”“There is going to be a big void in my life without him,” Meaghan Koppel said.
“After what he went through, we all hoped he would have his health and stay involved. Then this happens out of the blue. Like most other people, I am at a loss for words.”
