Amou Haji was forced by locals to finally wash after he feared taking a shower would make him ill
A man who's been labelled the ''dirtiest in the world'' has passed away aged 94 after he went decades without washing himself, according to an Iranian state. Amou Haji rejected a shower for over half a century as he believed that cleaning his body would make him ill, , the Mirror reports. But after sixty years of sitting in his own dirt, exasperated villagers forced him into a bathroom to wash, a local official revealed.
The documentary reveals Mr Haji initially began to become unclean as a young man after he started suffering from emotional problems which inevitably became worse after his dirtiness left him isolated. As well as his aversion to cleanliness, he also feared fresh food and drink, thinking it too would make him unwell.
They constructed the abode after seeing him sleeping in a hole in the ground. He also preferred to smoke animal faeces from an old pipe rather than normal tobacco.
