Garland police are asking the public to contact the department with any information that may help the investigation.Garland police are asking the public for information after they found the body of a woman under the West Walnut Street bridge on Sunday.
About 8:20 a.m., officers responded to a report of an unconscious person in the 1600 block of West Walnut Street near Brookside Drive and found a woman’s body, according to police. She was only identified as a white female estimated to be in her late 40s. Several witnesses told police they saw a woman standing on West Walnut Street looking over the bridge around 1:45 a.m.
The investigation is ongoing as officials work to determine the the woman’s cause of death. Police have asked anyone with information that may aid the investigation to contact police.
