A Kenai woman died Wednesday when her car lost traction and slid into oncoming traffic near Turnagain Pass, Alaska State Troopers said.
Dominique Flenory, 31, was northbound in a 2001 Cadillac on the Seward Highway at Mile 71.5 when she slid across the centerline around 4:45 p.m., troopers wrote in anFlenory’s car was hit in the passenger door by a southbound Ford F150 pickup, troopers wrote. The driver and passenger in the truck were transported by ambulance for treatment of their injuries and Flenory was declared dead at the scene, troopers said.
Troopers described the road as being covered in snow and ice. There were icy patches, packed and blowing snow on the road the next day, the state
