The driver, 34, and boy, 3, were in a stationary Ford Focus on the A180 at around 9pm yesterday, March 11, when they were struck by an articulated truck near Immingham, North East Lincolnshishire.
Humberside Police said the car is believed to have broken down in a live lane at the time of the crash. "At around 9.06pm last night a white articulated lorry was travelling westbound along the A180, Immingham between Stallingborough and Brocklesby when it collided with stationary blue Ford Focus which is thought to have broken down in a live lane.
