Woman and child die after being struck by car in Leeds

A woman and a child have died after being hit by a car that crashed into a vehicle dealership in Leeds.The vehicle, a white Audi, then collided with the wall of the Vertu Jaguar Leeds car dealership on Scott Hall Road. Police say both the woman and the child suffered serious injuries in the incident, which took place around 8.30am on Monday.The driver of the Audi was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries and is under arrest, West Yorkshire Police say.
Detective Inspector Paul Conroy, of the Major Collision Enquiry Team, said:"This is an absolutely tragic incident, and we are working to support the family of the woman and child involved.
