Joining Brink and Howard in Paris to defend the American women’s Olympic title will be college star Hailey Van Lith and experienced veteran Cierra Burdick.
The Sparks' Cameron Brink was the second pick in this year's WNBA draft, just after the Fever selected Caitlin Clark, right. A pair of WNBA standouts, including rookie Cameron Brink, a top college player and an experienced veteran form the women’s three-on-three team set to represent the United States at the Paris Olympics.
“It is an exciting process to put a roster together that will represent the country on a global stage,” Jay Demings, USA Basketball’s three-on-three national team director and a member of the organization’s three-on-three women’s selection committee,. “We are thankful for all the athletes who attended training camps or participated in 3x3 competitions on the journey to Paris 2024.
“I say this all the time but there is no greater privilege than to represent the USA at the Olympics,” women’s three-on-three Coach Jennifer Rizzotti, a former player for the national team and two-time WNBA champion,. “We understand that challenge in front of us as we face tremendous talent and experienced 3x3 teams. I am confident this roster gives us what we need to compete for another gold medal with experience, versatility and a commitment to USA Basketball excellence.
As it has done in the past, the WNBA will pause its regular season to accommodate the Olympics. The league began its highly anticipated season last month with an infusion of considerable star power from players like Brink, Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso.Brink, a multi-time all-American who helped Stanford win a national title in 2021, has given the rebuilding Sparks a new face of the franchise and delivered on the court.
Team USA’s men’s three-on-three men’s squad is relatively lacking in big names, by contrast, although it is an experienced group. The best-known member is former BYU star and NBA lottery pick
