Central Saanich Police are hoping to speak with witnesses after a person was “interrupted” trying to paint over the rainbow crosswalk at Bayside School.

In a Facebook post, police say it occurred around 7 p.m. on Aug. 7, and while the person was fleeing they left behind a paint can. Anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to call Central Saanich Police at 250-652-4441 and quote file #23-2407.Just over one month ago, on July 4,. This act of vandalism occurred during Victoria’s Pride Week.
“Obviously, it’s very sad and disheartening to see that, especially in this day and age,” Victoria Pride Society co-vice president Ace Mann told CHEK News on July 4. “It is sad.
