The changes take effect on Monday, April 18.

The changes come amid declining COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations at Penn State Health and much of Pennsylvania. As of Wednesday, Pennsylvania was averaging 986 new COVID-19 infections per day, down from nearly 30,000 in early January, but up slightly from late March, when the daily average fell below 600, according to tracking by SpotlightPA.

The changes apply only to two patients who don’t have COVID-19. Visitation of COVID-19 patients must be cleared with hospital staff.
