"This is a horrible situation," Erie County executive Mark Poloncarz said in a news briefing this morning. Winds gusted around 70 mph at the height of the storm and as much as 49 inches of snow fell. Another 6 to 12 inches is forecast through tomorrow.Much of Erie County remains under a travel ban but that isn't keeping people off the roads. Other parts of the area are under a travel advisory.
