Williamson County is now equipping its buildings’ automated external defibrillators (AEDS) with Narcan in order to save lives.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas — Williamson County is now equipping its buildings’ automated external defibrillators with Narcan in order to save lives.

The program was initiated by the county’s Community Health Paramedics. After partnering with the county’s mental health services, Bluebonnet Trails Services, and following up with people who suffered an overdose and were seen by EMS, they discovered that most people did not know where or how to access Narcan.
