Deer Lake joining Stephenville and Grand Falls-Windsor in proposed Central West Senior Hockey League

According to Royals president Tony Buckle, the decision to reject Stephenville’s application was made because the league wanted to put in a full season before considering expansion.

The players, in the statement, stressed they believed everyone wanted what was best for senior hockey in the region, but also said that their wishes are being misrepresented by the team.“The players, general manager, coaching staff and bench staff have lost all confidence in the current executive structure and their ability to navigate this difficult situation and decisions to be made in the future,” wrote the players in a statement.

While Stephenville is no stranger to provincial senior hockey, the Lightning group would be new to the CWSHL, and they're excited to get going. “It is our desire to create a four-team league and are open to another community joining this new league,” wrote Dolomount.
