In the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, Stix - a reproductive health products company - has created a fund to bring free emergency contraception pills to anyone who needs it. They've also bought billboards in trigger states to stop the spread of misinformation.
... [+]With abortion rights being stripped away by the U.S. Supreme Court on June 24, 2022, the morning-after pill has never played a more critical role in women’s lives. The pill, which isthe same as the abortion pill. As such, it is still legal in every state.
Stix, launched in 2019 by Jamie Norwood and Cynthia Plotch, started with direct-to-consumer pregnancy tests, and soon added fertility and UTI tests. The startup also facilitates education around reproductive health and general wellness. When the cofounders read theindicating that Roe v. Wade would be overturned, they quickly started a donation bank to provide Restart, their emergency contraceptive pill, for free.
