Matthew Macfadyen’s latest role playing an infamous game show contestant felt almost too real to him at times. “It was terrifying—because they had all the music and lighting cues,” he says of spending 12 days shooting in the hot seat on an exact replica stage of the U.K. version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? “There wasn’t much acting required.”
