Watch LukeBryanOnline admit that he's still traumatized from singing the National Anthem at the SuperBowl

was asked to sing the national anthem at the 2017 Super Bowl and during an appearance on“I sign on to do the anthem at the Super Bowl,” he recalls of the call in 2017 when the Georgia Falcons were up against the New England Patriots. “When I got the call, you’re like, ‘Do you really want to put yourself through this mental torture?’ You either get the anthem right or you don’t first of all.”

While Bryan was rehearsing several days leading up to the big game in Houston, he had friends in town inviting him out for drinks and others betting on his performance in Las Vegas. “I’m performing to 125 million people on Sunday, I can’t go do Jagerbombs all night,” he recalled telling his friends at the time with a laugh. “I performed it without pre-taping it. It’s about two minutes and 11 seconds...I will never do that to myself [again]...you’re so nervous your face locks up...it feels like you have rigor mortis setting in. My Falcons are up 28-6 and then we blew it in the fourth. Somebody had to tell me the next morning that we lost.

While Bryan isn’t ready to sing the national anthem again anytime soon, he says he is excited to be filming another season of“I look back on why in the world they would have chosen this trio of judges. Three seasons in, it’s a fun dynamic. We all have our own little lane...it’s so amazing watching these kids come out of the woodwork," he adds. "It’s shaping up real good.”
