I wrote the play both to knock some climate sense into people and to make something of all the terrible dates I sat through. It was comforting to know that I am not alone in my experiences. While the play isn’t solving climate change, my hope is that it can start a conversation about solastalgia— and that in itself is worthwhile.
Maybe, like the play, we’ll have an unexpected happy ending and humanity will prove me wrong at the 11th hour, and we will figure a way out of this climate emergency.
