If you want to try incorporating hojicha into your own baked sweets, Hsiao has suggestions for making sure the roasted tea flavor shines. “I would definitely use a powder, so if you have hojicha leaves and that’s all you have access to, I would grind it up in a coffee grinder,” she advises.
