Max Verstappen clinched his second consecutive F1 this year following a dominant display in the RB18. But the Red Bull driver thinks his championship successes haven't changed him, as he explains here:
, but was still producing the same combative attitude towards the seven-time world champion in the only occasion they really went wheel-to-wheel, Motorsport.com reminded the Dutchman about his previous comments.
“But, besides that, no. I’m just enjoying the moment. I was enjoying the moment also last year, but that pressure or need – that hunger to try and win a title whenever you had the opportunity – that’s gone. “It doesn’t change my life. I know who my friends are and I spend time with them and my family. Nothing has really changed in my life in the way I’m living it compared to last year.” Verstappen said his pressure-release achievement in 2021 was “always what you wanted to achieve in the sport, right?” and added “for sure it always feels better by winning it than not winning it”.
