DoorDash ceased a pilot program to deliver free rape kits to college students. Here's the inside story.

The DoorDash partnership was intended to be a stamp of approval for a company that has struggled to gain support in Silicon Valley.

It's still unclear whether the evidence collected using the kits will be viable in court, although Campbell says there's a possible precedent because other self-collected DNA has been admissible. Tang could not be immediately reached for comment, but Campbell says he talked to them and told them essentially what the company said: The program hadn't been approved by other departments.
