Months after Miss Teen USA and Miss USA returned their crowns, sparking controversy, Addie Carver, was named the new Miss Teen USA.
, a 17-year-old from Mississippi who used her time in the pageant to talk about the importance of mental health, won the title.
“As the next Miss Teen USA I want to make it my mission to know that every little girl who is just like me once is never alone,” she said before accepting her crown. Her win comes after a controversial season for the Miss USA Organization.the official resignation of her title and crown to Instagram.
“After months of grappling with the decision, I have made the choice to resign from the title of Miss Teen USA 2023,” Srivastrava wrote. “I am grateful for all the support from my family, my state directors, my sister queens, and the fans who have cheered me on since I won my state title.
Voigt also claims that “there is a toxic work environment within the Miss USA organization that, at best, is poor management and, at worst, is bullying and harassment.” She specifically accuses Rose of speaking negatively about her to others in the organization.
