Former White Spot, Capital City Centre Hotel development to go to public hearings
Chard Developments is undergoing the rezoning and development application process for two projects, one at 710 Caledonia Avenue and 1961 Douglas Street, and the other at 722 and 726 Discovery Street.are headed to public hearings after a unanimous vote in committee of the whole.
The first would be to build an eight-storey supportive housing development on the neighbouring site at 722 and 726 Discovery Street, which is currently a surface parking lot. This proposal already came before the previous council, who requested the design be altered to preserve three Garry oak trees. They would need to be removed in order to accommodate the previous design, however since then the designer has altered the layout, which now results in the preservation of two of the three trees.
