He opened the week with some wins in the debt crisis solution, hosted Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, huddled with the British prime minister, and ended it with a trip to North Carolina to highlight his investing in America campaign.Best of all, he watched from the sidelines as his Justice Department dropped the hammer on Trump in the Mar-a-Lago secret document case, while making no mention of his keeping secrets in his Delaware beach house.
The stench of it pervades the White House. Charges are mounting that when he was former President Barack Obama’s vice president, Biden took a $5 million bribe from Burisma, the Ukrainian energy company which had inexplicably added son Hunter Biden to its board of directors. The alleged bribe was in return for demanding that Ukraine fire a prosecutor who was investigating Burisma. Biden is on record saying that he threatened Ukraine with the loss of $1 billion in U.S.
Treasury Secretary Yellen has been peddling the idea of a global minimum tax on corporations for almost two years. Twenty-five members of the House Ways and Means Committee, which is in charge of taxes, said they would retaliate against any country that would impose such taxes on United States companies. Thank heaven there are at least a few Republicans who understand how devastating those taxes would be.
