After the evidence session, the committee is expected to take several weeks or even months to deliberate before it reaches a decision on whether Mr Johnson misled Parliament. The committee can also recommend the member is expelled from the Commons, but this is exceedingly rare, and no member has been formally expelled since 1947.
It is the convention that this is a free vote, meaning MPs are not required to vote in line with their party.
