Gordon is a versatile option for Howe but must improve his numbers in front of goal for Newcastle
Under manager Eddie Howe’s watch, and at a club flying high in third, there is no denying Gordon has secured himself an unlikely promotion after struggling to make an impact at Everton.
“I’m delighted to sign Anthony – he’s a top, top talent,” said Howe. “I’m really excited to work with him, to develop him, and I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do in a Newcastle shirt.” His versatility means Gordon could also be deployed as a winger, having frequently played wide right under Frank Lampard, but it may take some going to depose Miguel Almiron there.
