What’s all the fuss about? The new series of Peter Morgan’s drama is kind, not cruel, to the Royal FamilyElizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana, Imelda Staunton as the Queen, and Dominic West as Prince Charles in the latest season of The Crown is nearing hysteria.
Taking us back to the 90s, famously one of the Royal Family’s most tumultuous decades , series five covers Charles and Diana’s divorce, the fire at Windsor Castle, the “revenge dress”, the rise of the al-Fayed family, Take “tampongate”, the scandal which saw a very private phone call between then-Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles splashed across the papers. Josh O’Connor, who played Charles before Dominic West’s current iteration, refused to portray the call in series three and four, but creator Peter Morgan has finally got his way and the infamous phrase “particularly in and out” is spoken loud and proud by our current King., or steamy or even particularly cringey.
