If you’ve never read a gobble-it-all-down-in-a-weekend Taylor Jenkins Reid novel, you’re missing out on something special. The next best thing would be watching this Amazon Prime series, based on her best-selling 2019 novel. It offers a sweet taste of what makes her such a literary sensation.
It all makes for a fascinating, song-filled watch that actually reflects what it’s like to be in a band. Most of “Daisy Jones & the Six” focuses on a love-hate tug of war between its two main and very complicated singers, Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne . Theirs is not always a harmonious relationship and other members of the band weather their ordeals with fame, ego and drugs, along with Billy’s photographer wife and the group’s workaholic producer Teddy Price .
