A number of staff members at the former president's Florida resort may be called to testify in the classified documents case.
Workers at Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort could deliver 'distinct pieces of inside evidence' if they are called up to testify as part of the former president's classified documents trial, according to a legal expert.Former federal prosecutor Michael McAuliffe was reacting to a report from CNN, which has not been verified by Newsweek, that staff at Trump's Florida resort could be asked to take the stand in the trial in the federal case.
'The key to success in calling the witnesses might be that they are essentially a group to support each other's observations. The sum of several low-level witnesses is greater than one individual being called.'McAuliffe said that the Department of Justice must be mindful of any Mar-a-Lago worker changing their stories once they get to the stand, as they may be wary of the backlash they could face from Trump.
