And in the midst of this national nightmare, health care workers are spending entire shifts administering COVID tests.speaks to Brittany*, a 28-year-old pharmacist who works in a community pharmacy in one of the biggest cities in the country. For privacy reasons, her name has been changed.It’s been very, very, very stressful. We’ve had more positive [test results] than we’ve ever seen in all of our testing time. I’ve seen what it looks like during a surge.

[Usually] I’m much more positive and optimistic, but now I’m truly burnt out. It’s been a year and a half and it's very, very taxing, not only physically but mentally — especially when you’re dealing with hundreds of people every day. I’m okay, but I'm tired. I’m exhausted. And it seems actually to be getting worse.
