A Florida man was taken into custody Tuesday after police said he robbed a Hungry Howie's pizza shop and held one employee hostage for over seven hours.Authorities were alerted to the situation after the 49-year-old man's wife contacted police, gave up her husband's location, and said he had threatened suicide, according to a release the Altamonte Springs Police posted to social media.
Witnesses to the incident said the man had what"appeared to be a firearm.""The subject made several threats to do harm to employees before taking one employee hostage," the release read."[At] approximately 1:00 am, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team entered the Hungry Howie's and made contact with the victim and the subject."Pittard was charged with false imprisonment, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and battery, the release read.
