This may only hold up for a few more days given the way the Seahawks look.
The bad news for the Seattle Seahawks is that they lost to the New York Giants and looked like a team that’s nearer to a top 10 draft pick and not a playoff spot. The good news is they’re still leading the NFC West, perhaps unexpectedly so. Only the San Francisco 49ers had a shot at top spot with the right combo of a Seahawks loss and a 49ers win over the Arizona Cardinals. It turns out this was a bad day for a pair of home touchdown favorites, but the 49ers’ loss was definitely worse.
They committed three 2nd half turnovers, two of which led to Arizona points, and another which resulted in the end of the game. Jordan Mason’s crucial fumble at 23-21 when the 49ers could’ve had a game-clinching TD was super costly. Kyler Murray hooked up with Marvin Harrison Jr on a dramatic 4th and 5 play to extend the drive, and eventually kick the go-ahead field goal. And if you want to feel good, here’s Brock Purdy having one of his “should be intercepted” passes getting caught.
