: Clear Creek has come ever so close to earning a couple of District 24-6A wins this fall, and a victory Friday would certainly help the Wildcats’ outlook entering their season finale.
Clear Creek could easily be making its case for a possible playoff berth, but heartbreaking losses to Clear Lake and Clear Brook have ended its postseason aspirations. A fourth-and-9 conversion by Clear Lake resulted in a double-overtime loss to the Falcons, and two weeks ago Clear Creek was beaten by Clear Brook on a field goal as time expired in regulation.
This past week, the Wildcats fell to vastly improved Clear Springs, and when Dickinson comes to League City on Friday, it will be no picnic for Clear Creek. The Gators have their sights set on a District 24-6A championship and can achieve that with wins over Creek and Clear Brook next week. Dickinson has already locked up a playoff berth and will head to the Division 1 playoffs. The Gators will likely play Pearland or Alief Taylor in a bi-district matchup.
