WEATHER WARNINGS: Environment Canada lifts severe storm warnings covering Ottawa-Gatineau
The most recent, a severe thunderstorm advisory for both Ottawa and Gatineau, was lifted at about 7:55 p.m. It had been issued about 20 minutes earlier.The weather agency had issued temporary tornado warnings for Ottawa twice in the afternoon and evening, though both were lifted.
Other advisories issued Thursday also included severe thunderstorm warnings as well as tornado warnings and watches for other parts of eastern Ontario. Another fire service post said a house on Wilhelmina Place had been struck by lightning, charring some of the siding.
