An SUV drove into a Ross Dress for Less store in Sacramento on Saturday night, injuring five people. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI, police said.
The crash happened at 8:47 p.m. at the store in Natomas Marketplace, a shopping center near the junction of interstates 5 and 80. Video shows the full-size SUV crossing the sidewalk and breaking through the store’s glass front, coming to a stop about 20 feet inside.Sacramento fire Capt. Keith Wade told TV station KOVR that five people were hurt, one of them requiring hospitalization for major injuries including broken bones.
The driver, a 44-year-old Sacramento man, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence as well as drug possession and violating parole. He is to appear in court Tuesday.
