Watch Deshaun Watson throw in practice Wednesday in hopes of facing the Cardinals.
BEREA, Ohio — Deshaun Watson returned to practice Wednesday for the first time since the Friday before the Colts game Oct. 22 because of his strained right rotator cuff.
He started that game but left late in the first quarter after a taking a hard shot to the shoulder and a hard fall to the ground on it. Watson, who’s missed the past three games and most of a fourth, will apparently try to work his way up to facing the 1-7 Cardinals on Sunday, but Kevin Stefanski wasn’t ready to name his starter on Wednesday.If he can’t go, P.J. Walker, 1-1 this season, will start for the third time. He also came in off the bench to help beat the Colts, 39-38.
“He’s making progress,” Stefanski said of Watson. “He’s working through it, working very hard, both in this building, out of this building, really, around the clock. So I think all of the time, all of the rehab continues to make a difference.
