The robot helps a construction worker in a simulated site get his tool bag before pulling off an impressive parkour-style flip as the cherry on top.

A newly released video from Boston Dynamics shows the organization’s humanoid robot Atlas displaying a routine that challenges its "locomotion and sensing capabilities," according to a statement from the company.

In the video, one of the Boston Dynamics workers can be seen simulating working on a scaffold, hammering metal before complaining "I forgot my tools again!"The robot builds a path to the scaffold with pieces of wood and tosses a tool bag to the man. The automaton then performs an impressive flip off the platform. "Such a showoff," the person quips at the end.

While the dancing robot video was playful, the company has also sparked fear with other robot demonstrations making people wonder if now is the time to start kneeling to their future robot overlords. "Even though there’s a lot of blog headlines that say the robots are scary, if you look at our YouTube videos you see a lot of people like them," Raibert said. "That makes me wonder, are people really afraid? Or is it afraid like in a horror movie when you’re afraid on purpose?"

Collective polarization dynamics in bacterial colonies signify the occurrence of distinct subpopulationsCollective polarization dynamics in bacterial colonies signify the occurrence of distinct subpopulationsMembrane potential in bacterial systems has been shown to be dynamic and tightly related to survivability at the single cell level. This study of the the human pathogen Neisseria gonorrhoeae shows that during bacterial colony development, the population transitions to from heterogeneous to collective membrane polarization dynamics, marking the onset of habitat diversity.
