Julia Murray had a stroke at only 19. Now she's cheering for a cause.
The Wake Forest student and cheerleader was put into the care of the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Stroke Center in 2022. On Sunday, Oct. 29, Wake Forest men's basketball hosted a charity exhibition game to benefit the stroke center that treated her. Entry was free to the event, but donations of $20 were encouraged.
The event was also close to the head coach of the men's basketball team, Steve Forbes, whose wife had a stroke over the summer. "It's really special and full circle.
