Texas on Saturday picked up a commitment during the All-American Bowl at San Antonio's Alamodome.
One of the top unsigned seniors left in the nation, Waco Connally star Jelani McDonald committed to Texas over TCU and Oklahoma State Saturday afternoon during the All-America Bowl at San Antonio's Alamodome.
With hats representing each program laid out on a table in front of him, McDonald opted to place the burnt orange Texas cap atop his head while surrounded by family and friends. “For the next three-to-four years I’ll be going to…Texas,” McDonald said during NBC’s broadcast of the star-studded exhibition.
The delayed addition of McDonald brings Texas’ 2023 signing class up to 26 members, a tally that includes Wake Forest transfer cornerback Gavin Holmes and Stanford transfer punter Ryan Sanborn. The 6-foot-2 senior is the No. 6 athlete and No. 130 prospect in the nation, per the 247Sports composite rankings.
