The automaker didn’t give us a specific date for the market launch of the new model, but earlier comments by VW Group officials suggest it shouldn’t be expected before 2025. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait that long in order to see a preview of the exterior design which will closely mirror the ID. 2all

The new design direction was dictated by ex-Bentley designer Andreas Mindt, who recently replaced Jozef Kaban as the new chief designer at Volkswagen., meaning that its footprint will be slightly smaller than the 4,261 mm long ID.3. It will most likely ride on the upgraded MEB+ architecture which will also underpin the smaller supermini-sized ID.1 hatchback. Both models will be produced at the Martorell factory near Barcelona, Spain, alongside similar offerings from Cupra and Skoda.
