Vote: Mississippi presidential, Senate and House primaries on Tuesday by Bobby Harrison, Mississippi Today March 11, 2024 Polls will be open in Mississippi on Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for Republican and Democratic primaries for president, a U.S. Senate post and U.S. House seats. In the Republican primary, Sen. Roger Wicker of Tupelo, who was first elected to office in a 2008, faces two challengers: Ghannon Burton of Tishomingo County and state Rep. Dan Eubanks of DeSoto County.
The only contested race in the Democratic primary is for the 1st District congressional seat where Dianne Dodson Black and Bronco Williams are vying to advance to November and take on Republican incumbent Trent Kelly. The 1st District includes much of north Mississippi. All four U.S. House posts are up for reelection this year. In the 2nd, which consists of southwest Mississippi, parts of Jackson and the Delta, longtime Democratic Rep.
