Vitamin D levels linked to COVID risk
Low serum vitamin D levels were significantly associated with an increased risk of acquiring COVID-19 infection.
Comorbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, chronic lung disease, and cardiovascular disease were not associated with a higher risk of COVID-19 infection.Findings suggest that vitamin D levels should be monitored, and vitamin D supplementation should be considered in patients with COVID-19 to improve their recovery.Funding: None.
