A 30-year-old man shot and killed by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies in a Diamond Bar neighborhood in June disregarded authorities’ orders to surrender and threatened a nearby motorist before he was shot,Around 11:30 a.m.
Chin fired around seven to eight shots before deputies arrived, authorities said. His mother followed her son through the neighborhood pleading with him to drop the rifle. Chin ignored orders from deputies to surrender and continued walking onto Diamond Bar Boulevard. A driver in a Tesla in the far traffic lane along Diamond Bar Boulevard was forced to come to a stop as two patrol cars were stopped next to him in the other two lanes.
